Long Island Landscape Designer

Long Island Landscape Designer

Creating a landscape design for the average home owner can be quite a challenge.  I have been creating Long Island landscapes for most of my life and am always learning new and different ways to assemble a landscape. How much of the old material will remain? Are there privacy issues? How long will you be living in your home? These are some of the many questions that I would ask you if I came for a free consultation.

Before the use of computer imaging,  it was difficult for many people to truly understand  what their new landscape would look like. A landscape designer or landscape architect thru conversation and computer generated pictures can help. All of my clients are very confident that they are getting what they expected when the trucks and crew arrive.

Another useful tool in the landscape design process is my 22 acre nursery. Trees, shrubs and flowers can be seen early on in the landscape design . Most people like flowering plants, but others would like to keep it simple. Books on trees and shrubs are great, but can be confusing. It is always most important to see your future plants in person before they arrive at your house.

I grow shade trees, privacy screens, perennials, evergreens, specimens and much more. In future blogs, I will explain the landscape design process and how Long Island landscape design can be different depending on your location. South shore landscapes may not look like north shore landscapes. Your home landscape may not be able to look like the landscape that you admire around the block.
